New officers
June 11, 2009 Officers for the LHS Band 2009-10 year are Historian-April Jones, Treasurer-Rebekah King, Secretary-Julie Harvey, President-Anne Burke, and Vice President-Brooke Kay. Drum Majors will be Brooke Kay and Rebekah King. Back row are Librarian-Jackie Jones, Quartermaster-Wesley Orr, Drill Instructors-Shane Bowen, Jordan Jones and Tylar Brown.

Farmers Market off to great start
June 11, 2009 Bess Glasscock sets up her Leonard Farmers Market booth in the cool on Saturday morning. She had a full table of peaches, plums, onion, yellow squash, zucchini squash, bell pepper, and plum jelly while others had green beans, peppers, homemade salsa, herbs, eggs, plants, baked goods from candy to fried pies to sweet breads, new potatoes, cabbage, shelled pecans, home baked bread, chives, carrots, leaf lettuce, and many flavors of homemade jams and jellies, some organic and some not. The community response was overwhelming. The market will be open on Tuesday afternoons and Saturday mornings at 8 a.m. with more vendors expected to join the 10 who sold produce and other edibles this past Saturday.
