Feb. 10, 2011 - Since the last article regarding items that need to be returned to the library, director Rose Farhood is happy to report most have been returned, and is also announcing another drive to help out a local charity organization. During the month of February, the Leonard Public Library will grant amnesty to those owing library fines in exchange for canned good donations to restock the LEAP Food Pantry shelves.

"They really need the staples to replenish their shelves," Farhood said.

The fines will be waived for those bringing the library property back with canned goods to donate. Farhood would also like to encourage those who don't have fines, but plan to visit the library for other services, to bring a can and drop it off also.

"Let's all help restock the pantry," she said.

The library would like to say thank you to those who have returned their property, have already donated food this month, and will donate food.
