Their love never failed but grew stronger in leaps and bounds. He will forever be in her heart and by her side.
David was also an astonishing father. With his rough appearance and soft edges he molded two wonderful sons, Seth Lee Rose of Bonham and his wife Danielle and their son Sheldon Alexander, Zanne Christman of Leonard and his wife Elizabeth. David loved his sons with every ounce of his being. He taught them how to be men in all aspects of life. He was never too busy to spend time sharing his memories of his childhood with us or teaching us all he knew about life from fishing and hunting to fixing our cars. We held on to every word learning all we could.
David was a mentor to us all, an inspiration on how to live life. He told us to take it day by day with the ones you love, remembering your past but not dwelling on it, and learning from your mistakes and growing from them, spending time with those who are so precious to you and; above all, never being too macho of a man to look your sons in the eye and tell them you love them when you leave for work or give them a hug and kiss goodnight. That's the way our father was he may have had a rough looking exterior but when he wrapped his arms around you he had soft edges that could comfort in any situation.
So, Dad we love you, we will miss you, but we will never forget you. We know your time here was fleeting but can honestly say well spent. Your life will live on in the memories of all who loved you including all your brothers and sisters who love you dearly.

Feb. 26, 2009 - Peggy Clanton lived a life worth celebrating. She was a friend, a teacher, a wife, a mother and a grandmother. Not one of those jobs was less important to her than any other. Those of us who knew her recognize the influence she has had on numerous lives.
Peggy did not exercise her influence through grand design. It was her quiet compassion, generosity, devotion, love, sense of humor and wisdom that combined to affect us in many ways. Peggy had a true source of inner strength and character that carried her through the loss of a beloved husband, the debilitating effects of an earlier serious illness and the last illness that claimed her life. The love she shared with her family was evident in the tender care they provided her during the last months of her life.
The wonderful stories and humor that Peggy shared with us attest to her appreciation for the richness of life. She liked to have a good time, and every child whom she taught, every friend she traveled with, and every family member shared in those good times.
Peggy’s time on earth has passed. While we will be sad that she is no longer with us, we are glad that she no longer suffers. It is difficult to put our feelings into words at a time like this.
This life will continue – through the warm recollections of her dear friends, the devotion of her sons and brothers and sisters-in-law, the love of her grandchildren and the memories of countless children she taught.
Another wise widow spoke of the love she continued to have for her late husband after 50 years of widowhood. She said of him, “He was the best we had. God bless his memory.”
This certainly applies to Peggy Clanton. She was the best we had. God bless her memory.
Feb. 19, 2009 - In loving memory of our father, who went to be with the Lord and our mother. Our father lived a great and interesting life, definitely never a dull moment. He was born and raised in and around Hunt and Rains Counties.

He was employed by the Greenville Herald Banner around 1960-1965, then spent 27 years at the Dallas Times Herald where he retired and purchased the Whitewright Sun, which he owned for seven years until he retired and moved to Jacksonville, Florida.
He was also very proud of his family, especially our mother to whom he was married for 35 years. He was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Jo Waldrop in 1995, his sister, Betty Conaster whom he also loved dearly, and his mother and father. Everyone that knew him called him “Pop”.
He is survived by a daughter, Sarina Cheak and husband, Rusty; two grandchildren, Courtney Jo Cheak and William Joseph Cheak, and a great-grandson (his favorite baby), William Carter Cheak, all of Caddo Mills where he resided with them; sons, Paul and wife Cheryl Waldrop of Plano and grandson Casey Adam Waldrop, Joe and wife Kathey Waldrop of Greenville and their two children Matt and Erica, and Erica’s son, Gabriel, Pop’s first born grandson; youngest son Bobby Waldrop and wife Tiffany of Leonard, and their two children Jessie Waldrop, (his little namesake), and Daniel Waldrop; youngest daughter, Kelly Owens and her wonderful husband, Jesse with their two children, Glenn (whom we all know as his favorite) and Ariana Owens, all who reside in Leonard; favorite nephew Johnny L. Long and wife Mitzi of Southlake and their two children, Jennifer and Garrett; an uncle, Joe Waldrop and wife Katherine, whom he loved to go visit in Emory.
Arrangements are being handled by Lynch Funeral Home in Greenville. Thoughts and prayers are all we ask. Burial will be at Prospect Cemetery in Emory, our family cemetery. He will be missed very much. We all loved you, Pop. All our love is with you, Renie, Paul, Jody, Bobby and Kelly.
