
December 17, 2009 - The five playhouses built to raise funds for the Fannin County Family Crisis Center were given away at the Bonham Christmas Parade on Friday, Dec. 11th. The winners were Randa Collum from Hugo, Okla., who won the Teepee; Doyle Gaither from Greenville won the Jail; Dena Hall from Bonham won the Fort; Linda Long from Bonham won the Castle; and Delores Simmons from Whitewright won the Alice in Wonderland playhouse.
Sponsors and builders of the playhouses were as follows: the Jail, built by Leonard Police Chief Rex Clark and Pct. 2 Judge Alan Hale and sponsored by the Leonard Chamber of Commerce; the Teepee was built and sponsored by Bill Pillars, the Alice and Wonderland house was sponsored by Floyd & Judge Eileen Cox and Louise Calhoun, the Castle was built by the Fannin County Drug Court and sponsored by Judge Lauri Blake, County Attorney Richard Glaser, Bonham Building Supply, Debra Roberts and Todd Maxey from the Fannin County Probation Department, and the Fort was sponsored by American Bank, the Glaser Foundation, Roy & Linda Floyd and Louise Calhoun and built by the Buster Cole Unit.
