LISD Band News

December 17, 2009 - From those who tried out for the Region Band on Saturday, Dec. 12, Brooke Kay made 6th chair in the Wind Ensemble and advanced to Area Competition; Tylar Brown made 2nd in the Symphonic Band and advanced to Area.

On Monday, Dec. 14 the high school wind ensemble and jazz band played at the Dairy Queen in Leonard from 5:30-8:30 p.m. A portion of the proceeds were donated to the band.

Thursday night, Dec. 17th the high school choir, jazz band and wind ensemble will hold a concert and baked potato dinner. The concert begins at 7 p.m., but dinner will be served at 6:30. There is no charge to attend the concert alone, but if you plan to eat you must have a ticket. You can buy your ticket from a high school band student for $8 each. Proceeds will go to help fund trips for both junior high and high school.
