Leonard golfer wraps up high school career with top 20 finish at state

May 15, 2008 - AUSTIN - After a horrendous first day at the State Golf Championships she just wanted to forget. Leonard senior Amber Henderson had to determine what was left to play for during round two. The recent SWOSU signee had no more high school tournaments scheduled, and she had left herself with no chance to improve on last year’s ninth-place finish. Three state tournament appearances in four years weren’t supposed to end this way. All that remained was pride.

The entrance to this fine pizza eatery opens to Fannin Street, behind the Fannin County Title Company at 118 S. Main, or the southeast corner of the square. Just come around the corner and you will find customers waiting patiently, for pizza well worth the wait.

CES Students Extend a Warm Welcome to Supporting Troops

May 1, 2008 - As U.S. soldiers stepped into the National Guard Armory in Greenville, Texas on April 25th, they were greeted by both family and friends, along with posters made by the 5th grade classes of Celeste Elementary school. The brightly colored posters accompanied the crowd’s cheers, signs, waving American flags and the handshakes of several dozen supportive citizens both young and old. The 164 soldiers were wearing their military fatigues and carrying heavily packed, green duffle bags, but they stopped to shake hands. There were lots of smiles worn by everyone. Among the supporters were some Celeste High School graduates; there to meet relatives.
