Miss Margaret Richards And Wayne Ruff Engagement And Marriage Plans Revealed

Mr. and Mrs. Joe Richards, Sr. of Leonard announce the engagement and approaching marriage of their daughter, Miss Margaret Richards, to Mr. Wayne Ruff, son of Mr. and Mrs. George Ruff of Leonard. The wedding is scheduled for the middle of July.

Mr. Ruff is presently employed at the J. Y. Taylor Company in Garland. Miss Richards is employed at Juanita's Hair Stylists in Garland.

Davis Bros. Buy J. D. Davis Gin In Leonard

John Harold Davis and Fred Neal Davis this week announce the purchase of J. D. Davis Gin, a long time business interest of their father, J. D. Davis.

The brothers said the gin will be operated by the same policy as has been the custom through the years. They invite farmers in this area to patronize the gin.

It was also announced that Noel Owens will continue in the position of bookkeeper and manager.

A. R. Stapp Is In Dallas For Butane Annual Convention

A. R. Stapp of the Leonard Butane Co. has revealed his plans to attend the Texas Butane Dealers Association's 16th Annual Convention and Southwestern LP-Gas Market in Dallas June 21, 22 and 23.

The Convention and Market which are sponsored each year by the Association will be held simultaneously and will use the facilities of both the Adolphus and Baker Hotels. More than 600 dealers from all over the Southwest are expected to attend. The combination event is the largest meeting of the LP-Gas industry on state and regional levels in the nation.

Special of the Texas LP-Gas Industry at the Thursday morning business session was State Senator Ray Roberts of McKinney. Senator Roberts was President Pro Tempore of the Senate during the past session of the Texas Legislature.

Senator Roberts will lead a discussion as to the possible types of legislation that could be sought to solve some of the problems confronting the industry.

Larry Thompson Notes 12th Birthday

Larry Joe Thompson, son of Mrs. Thelma Jo Thompson, celebrated his 12th birthday with a party at his home Wednesday, June 14, from 2 to 4 p.m.

Guests included the White Sox Little League Baseball team, of which Larry is a player and Joe Bartlett, George, Steve and Leon Henderson, Mrs. Archie Creech and Miss Anthaline Thompson.

Refreshments of cake and home made ice cream were served.
