Minute to Win It - The Intermediate Way

April 14, 2011 - The fourth and fifth graders at Leonard Intermediate School participated in their version of Minute to Win It for their Fabulous Friday celebration. Those students attending the "show" were being awarded for good behavior, meeting their Accelerated Reader points, etc. Substitute Sarah Burt organized the show, dressing the part of host Guy Fieri from the hit television show on NBC. Her assistant was music teacher Lesa Ashworth, complete with prom dress and heels to resemble a real on-screen show assistant. Students were drawn from a hat and had their chance to battle each other in competitions similar to or the same as ones from the real show. (Pictures below)

April 14, 2011 - Leonard Elementary report cards for the fifth six weeks will be sent home on Thursday, April 14. Progress reports for the sixth six weeks will be sent home Friday, April 29. Parents are asked to review these with their child(ren), sign and return to the teacher. Anybody wishing to have a parent/teacher conference may call the school office to set one up.

 

Athletic Club electing new officers

April 14, 2011 - The Leonard High School Athletic Booster Club will be electing all new officers in May. If you would like to be an officer or if you know of someone who you would like to nominate please contact Pam McCarley.

The Athletic club is an organization that supports all athletics at LHS. Over the last few years the athletic club has had two fund raisers. The golf tournament in July and running Friday night football concession stands during the fall. (five games). A meeting will be held in May to elect the officers... the date will be announced soon.

 

First and second grade play May 17

April 14, 2011 - The first and second grade classes at Leonard Elementary will present the musical "Seven Ways to be a Pirate" on Tuesday, May 17, at 7 p.m. in the high school auditorium. The students need to be on board by 6:30 p.m. The community is invited to attend this performance.

 

Next storytelling time is April 19

April 14, 2011 - Leonard Public Library and Leonard Junior High will host their third Storytelling Time on Tuesday, April 19, at Leonard Public Library, from 6 to 8 p.m. This is a come-and-go time and will feature guest readers from Leonard Junior High reading stories to the children attending. Leonard Public Library is located on the east side of the downtown Leonard square.
