Jan. 27, 2011 - On Wednesday, Jan. 19, the newly impaneled Grand Jury for Fannin County met for its first session. At that time, the Criminal District Attorney's Office presented 35 cases for their review, and all 35 were true billed. Of the 35 cases submitted, 24 involved either the illegal possession, manufacture or sale of drugs. Criminal District Attorney Richard E. Glaser reported that there has been a significant spike in cases involving suspects selling their prescription drugs for profit. Hydrocodone is the drug most frequently abused in this manner.
