Passport Fairs scheduled for May 21, and June 4 & 11

May 12, 2011 - It's not too late to get a passport for this Summer. District Clerk, Nancy Young has announced that the Fannin County District Clerk's Office will be sponsoring Passport Fair's on the following Saturdays: May 21, June 4, and June 11 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. NO APPOINTMENT NECESSARY.

Denison Art Council hosting the Sweet Jubilee: Cake and Sugar Art Show on Saturday, June 18

May 12, 2011 - Organizers need cake, candy, pastry, chocolate and other sugar creation entries

The Denison Art Council is putting out a call for art, sweet art that is - cakes, candies, pastries, chocolates, and any other sugar creation a culinary artist can dream up. The Sweet Jubilee is an upcoming event on Saturday, June 18, that will showcase the talented artists, bakers and hobbyists of the Texoma and Metroplex area. This Downtown Denison event will be fun for the whole family with cake demos, shopping, vendors, and plenty of sweets on hand for tasting.

MAY 5, 2011 - This past week the House continued debating bills. The number of bills on the calendar each day has steadily increased, and members are spending more and more time on the floor debating legislation. The House committees are also busy hearing bills that have passed the Senate and have come over to the House for debate. This week the House laid out its redistricting map for the state House districts.

 

FCRW to announce bookmark winners, hold meeting

MAY 5, 2011 - The Fannin County Republican Women have several opportunities this month for residents of our county. On Saturday, May 7, at 1 p.m., winners of the "Get Hooked... Read a Book" contest will be announced at a reception in honor of the eighth grade students who submitted bookmarks for the Literary Awareness Program. The reception is opened to the public and will be held at the Creative Arts Center 200 W. 5th St. in Bonham.
