June 2, 2011 - Children up to age 18 will once again have the opportunity to eat nutritious meals for breakfast and lunch throughout the summer - at no cost. Leonard ISD has hosted the summer meal program last year and had a good turnout.

The summer meal program provides nutritious meals at no charge to all children age 18 and younger at Leonard Elementary school cafeteria. To participate, just show up. The cafeteria workers will serve breakfast from 7:30 to 9 a.m. and will serve lunch from 11 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. starting June 6 and going through July 22. Meals will be served Monday through Friday, and the summer meal menus will be printed weekly in The Leonard Graphic newspaper.

E-mail Print PDF

June 2, 2011 - Leonard ISD Band Director Jennifer Stidham got word Tuesday morning that some of her students who competed in the Celina Solo and Ensemble Contest received awards for their performances. The High School Clarinet Ensemble consisting of Anne Burke, Elise Hamilton, Brooke Kay, Emily McDonald and Jensen Sutton, received the Outstanding Ensemble performance award. Carlee Martin, who plays clarinet, and Brandon Scoggins, who plays trumpet, also received Outstanding Soloists awards. These students, as well as several others, have worked hard this competition season and their awards are well-deserved. The band banquet held last week was a testament to the successful band program Jennifer and Matt Stidham have established at Leonard ISD.
