May 19, 2011 - As is tradition every year, area businesses and churches have hosted luncheons for the Leonard High School graduating class of 2011. The First United Methodist Church of Leonard held theirs recently and the senior class enjoyed a time of food and fellowship.

May 12, 2011 - On Monday evening the Leonard ISD school board met and after executive session voted to hire Courtney Williams McCarley as a teacher at Leonard High School for the 2011-12 school year.

The board received a plaque from Texas Association of School Boards for grants applied for and received in the district, and also voted to extend the contract for Morgan Davis to be the audit firm for LISD for another year.

May 12, 2011 - Leonard FCA High School officers Haley Brunson, Catelyn Cash and Taylor Conti were on hand in April to present a check to Mark Buchanan for the Leonard Local Relief Fund. The money was collected on Souper Bowl Sunday in local churches. - Ava Barlow staff photo

May 12, 2011 - The Leonard Fellowship of Christian Athletes will be holding their sixth annual golf tournament on Friday, May 13 at 12 noon at Webb Hill Country Club in Wolfe City at 438 FM 2358.

Registration and lunch will be held from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. and shot gun start will be at 1 p.m. The tournament will be played by Florida Scramble rules. There will be prizes awarded for Closest to Pin on each par three; first, second and third place teams and Longest Drive hole.
