• A Leonard officer assisted Hunt County Sheriff's Office by transporting a resident to a location in their county and then back to Leonard, while they were investigating a case on April 11.
• A Quinlan woman contacted Leonard police after her 16-year-old grandson whom she had custody of had left and was staying with a woman outside of Leonard. The complainant filed a report with CPS who advised her to make a report with the police department. The officer advised that the location where the boy was staying was outside of their jurisdiction, and they would need to file the report with Fannin County Sheriff's Office.
• A criminal trespass warning was issued against a 35-year-old resident on April 12 after an incident between her and another 39-year-old female.
• An officer was dispatched to the elementary school playground on April 12 at 6:10 p.m. in reference to simple assault. Reports show that a grandmother spoke with officers and advised them that her 12-year-old grandson had been having trouble with a 13-year-old girl at school who had been threatening to hurt him. On the date of the report, the girl reportedly pushed the boy and hit him several times.
• A 21-year-old female resident requested a criminal trespass warning be issued against a 20-year-old male resident on April 12 after he had gotten upset with his wife, who was at the complainant's house, and came to the location yelling at her.
• The owner of a Leonard business filed a burglary report on April 13 at 3:25 p.m. after his employees found almost $340 in materials missing from a storage building where the items were kept. The man stated that the materials had last been used one or two weeks prior to the report, and he believed a woman who had recently worked for him may be responsible.
• An officer performed a welfare check on two children - ages three and nine - who had been left in a car at a Leonard business for a couple of minutes while the parent was in the store on April 15 at 11 a.m.
• Officers were dispatched to a family disturbance with a gun on April 16. Reports show that a husband and wife started arguing while both were intoxicated and the woman alleges that the husband physically assaulted her and pulled a gun on her, which fired and lodged a bullet in the home's door frame. The man was taken into custody for assault family violence, but told officers that his wife was the one who had the gun and he just wrestled it away from her after she pointed it at him. He told officers that the bullet in the door was from an incident in December. The man was transported to Fannin County Jail on the charge, but the woman later told police that she had lied about the incident.
• A Greenville woman was issued citations for four offenses on April 16 during a routine traffic stop. The officer initially pulled the vehicle over for traveling 80 miles per hour in a 60 zone. The driver was found to not have a valid driver's license, dispatch was unable to confirm insurance on the vehicle after the driver produced an expired insurance card and the officer observed a two-year-old child in the back seat restrained by a seat belt, but not in a safety seat as required by law. The woman was cited for speeding, failure to maintain financial responsibility, driving while license is invalid and not securing a child in a safety seat. Due to an invalid license and no confirmed insurance, the vehicle was towed and the woman and child were taken to a Leonard business where they waited to be picked up.
• A Leonard officer was called to assist a Celeste officer with a traffic stop on April 16 at 11:20 p.m. The Celeste officer believed the vehicle he was following was stolen out of Missouri and waited until meeting a Leonard officer for backup in Leonard to initiate a traffic stop. The driver and one passenger were taken out of the vehicle and placed in handcuffs for safety. The Leonard officer, however, noticed the plates on the vehicle were from Washington, not Missouri. Dispatch confirmed the vehicle was not stolen and the two subjects were released, but were upset about what had happened.
• A Greenville man was arrested on April 17 after an officer learned during a routine traffic stop for speeding that he was driving without a valid license. The man advised that he had just been released from the Texas Department of Criminal Justice and his license was expired. Dispatch advised that the driver had multiple convictions for driving with an invalid license. The driver was cited for speeding and failure to maintain financial responsibility, and was arrested for driving with an invalid license. The vehicle was towed to a location in Bonham.
