• A Leonard officer was dispatched to a residence on U.S. Highway 69 in reference to an unresponsive person on March 31 at 10:08 a.m. The Leonard Volunteer Fire Department had begun CPR and a Bonham EMS ambulance transported the victim to Red River Regional Hospital in Bonham.
• A resident called police on March 31 at 5:45 p.m. to reportrepresentatives from an energy company walking door to door. The officer contacted the two subjects and advised them that a permit is needed from the city office, and that even with a permit, the city prohibits door-to-door selling after 5 p.m.
• A concerned aunt summoned the authorities on March 31 at 6:45 p.m. after her ten-year-old niece became angry and was giving her aunt and mother a hard time. The officer spoke with the child who advised she would not give them any more problems.
• A 19-year-old Whitewright resident was arrested for outstanding warrants out of Leonard on April 1. An officer on duty was listening to radio traffic and noticed a Whitewright officer was out on a call with a woman known to the officer to have an arrest warrant. The Whitewright officer confirmed the warrant, and took the teenager into custody.
• An officer responded to a suspicious person call on April 1 after a complainant advised a person drove by their house and threw something in the yard, and they were now following the vehicle and it was driving all over the roadway. The officer located a vehicle matching the description given and initiated a traffic stop. The driver advised they had not thrown anything out of the window, and, due to losing contact with the complainant, the officer freed the man to go.
• A business owner on Highway 69 called police on April 2 at 3:40 a.m. after hearing a loud noise outside the building. A Leonard officer - along with assisting officers from Trenton and Whitewright - checked the perimeter of the building, but were unable to find anything out of the ordinary.
• The leader of a highway clean-up crew contacted police on April 2 at 1:10 p.m. after finding a vial with powder in it. The officer took custody of the property, which was found to be a medicine usually given through an IV.
• Officers were dispatched to a residence on Thomas Street on April 4 at 6:18 a.m. to investigate an unattended death. Reports show that the deceased haddied from natural causes after battling cancer.
