May 26, 2011 - Fannin County Family Crisis Center (FCFCC) is the proud recipient of a $136,000 grant from the Meadows Foundation. This grant money is to pay for remodeling the building that FCFCC bought at 118 E. Sam Rayburn Drive in Bonham. FCFCC wanted to be able to better serve the citizens of Fannin County and this grant makes that possible.
The Meadows Foundation exists to assist people and institutions of Texas in improving the quality and circumstances of life for themselves and future generations. The Meadows Foundation strives to exemplify the principles of its founder in addressing basic human needs by working toward the elimination of ignorance, hopelessness and suffering, protecting the environment, providing cultural enrichment, encouraging excellence and promoting understanding and cooperation among people.
The new office space was purchased Nov. 30, 2010 with funds donated by a supporter who wishes to remain anonymous. A few projects were started, but the center did not have the money to do the big repairs necessary. With the grant from the Meadows Foundation, the building will be totally renovated and be not only functional, but beautiful as well. When FCFCC is able to move into this new space, it will be more visible and accessible to the community. In addition, there will be more space for clients, volunteers and staff.
When renovations are complete there will be an open house and the whole community will be invited. FCFCC is excited to be hosting their partners in the community and meeting new supporters from our own building.
Thank you to the Meadows Foundation, the many FCFCC supporters, volunteers and other community members who have helped get this project started. They look forward to continuing services to the citizens of Fannin County.
