May 12, 2011 - The Ladonia Volunteer Fire Department is having fundraisers to raise money for the purchase of new equipment, supplies and training.
The first event is a garage sale planned for this Saturday, May 14, at the LVFD, located at 203 Paris Street in Ladonia. The sale will be open to the public starting at noon. People who wish to donate goods for this event may drop them off at Ladonia City Hall or Ladonia VFD Station. People looking to purchase garage sale items can stop by the fire Station anytime Saturday between noon and early evening.
The second event, a dance, will be the following Saturday, May 21, at the fire department. All ages are welcome to attend, and LVFD is asking for a door donation of $4 per person, or $2 a person for those involved in firefighting, medical or law enforcement, with duty shirts or visible badges. The hours will be from 8 p.m. to 1 a.m. LVFD will have a deejay and professional sound system playing today's hottest country, R&B, dance and club music. LVFD will sell all refreshments except alcohol - this is an alcohol-free, family-oriented event.
