Funeral services for Naomi Kathryn Partridge Brewer, age 82, are scheduled for Wednesday, June 20, at 10 a.m. at the Turrentine-Jackson-Morrow Funeral Chapel in Leonard with Wayne Hutchins and Kendall Hutchins officiating. Interment will follow at the East Shady Grove Cemetery in Trenton. Family visitation will be held Tuesday, June 19, at 7 p.m. at the funeral home in Leonard. Brewer passed away peacefully in her sleep on Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Medical Center of McKinney.
Brewer was born Aug. 9, 1929, in Whitewright to Carl and Clara Blackwell Partridge. She graduated from high school in Greenville and married the love of her life, Eugene Brewer, in McKinney. They shared their life together for 63 years. They shared the love of gardening and always had an abundant vegetable garden and beautiful flowers. She loved to grow "Sweet Williams" and "Forget Me Nots". They loved to share with all. She loved to cook and was known for her German chocolate cake and peach cobbler. She loved gospel music and her faith in Jesus Christ was foundational to the way she lived her life. She made many lasting friends through the years with Avon and will be missed by all.
Brewer is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law, Phyllis and James Welch of McKinney and Nancy Gene and Larry Thompson of Dallas; grandchildren, Danny and Johnna Craig, Steven and Melissa Craig, Paula and John Kent of Leonard, and John Gillaspy of Questa, N.M.; great-grandchildren, Christopher, Kayla Olivia and Emily Craig and Benjamin and Emily Kent; sister, Frances Pritchard of Blue Ridge; and numerous nieces, nephews and other loving relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son, Charles Brewer; brother, James Doyle Partridge; and sister, Zelma Laverne Wells.
